The triangle represents Irimi or entering movements, which allow one to move off the direct line of conflict and still enage it. The circle symbolizes Tenkan or outside turning movements creating the most dynamic way of controlling a conflict. It is also the Zen Circle which signifies infinity, reminding us that all of our actions move out from us infinitely like the ripples of a pebble dropped in calm water, ultimately affecting everything.
